I just wanted to update all of you on my preparations for the NorCal AIDS Cycle Challenge coming up in May.
First of all, a huge THANK YOU to all of you who have generously sponsored my ride. I had initially set a goal of raising $2000, but it became obvious that there were a LOT of people interested in this project, so I increased my goal to $3000. As of today, I have raised $2,585 towards that goal. And even more exciting is, that all of the riders have earned a total of $102,810, with seven weeks to go before the ride begins.
Some of you have asked which agencies are the beneficiaries of the proceeds from the ride. All of these worthy agencies are right here in Northern California. The major beneficiaries include:
Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center
Golden Rule Serivces
Sierra Foothills AIDS Foundation
Shasta Trinity Tehama HIV Food Bank
Harm Reduction Services
My training has not gone as well as I’d hoped, the weather being what it has been the last few weeks. So a lot of it has taken place at the gym instead out on the road with The Red Baron. Nonetheless, I am feeling good about my ride preparations, and am looking forward to four days on the road with my fellow riders!
Again… thanks to all of you who have made donations to my ride. It is so very much appreciated. And for those who haven’t…. it’s not too late!
