Once again, in 2014 I will participate in NorCal AIDS Cycle, a 530 km (that’s 330 miles for the rest of you) bike tour which raises funds for agencies in Northern California serving those suffering from HIV/AIDS.
NCAC supports many wonderful agencies including CARES, The Sunburst Project, Caring Choices, the Shasta/Tehema HIV Food Bank, Golden Rule Services, and many others. My NCAC cycling team is sponsored by The River City Food Bank, one of Sacramento’s oldest and most respected agencies. Through a special program for HIV/AIDS patients, RCFB provides nutritious, high protein food, which is critically important to those suffering from this disease. RCFB also present monthly cooking classes at CARES, helping their patients in stretching every bit of nutrition from the food they have at hand.
NorCal AIDS Cycle provides critical support to agencies right here in our community, and makes a major impact on those suffering from this terrible disease. Many of these agencies also provide testing and prevention services, to help stop the tide of new infections of this completely preventable disease.
If you are looking for the last minute end-of-year tax deduction, I invite you to make your contribution today. No amount is too small (or too large!), and will make a significant impact in the life of someone right here on our own community.
I thank all of you for your support, and wish all of you a happy and healthy New Year.
